Overheard in Church

Lines one just doesn't expect to hear in a eulogy at a funeral Mass:

So I went and got my gun, spun the chambers, and put it on the table.

N.B. The story was unrelated to the departure of the deceased from this life.

One more reason why such fond memories of the deceased should be recounted after the prayer service at the funeral home rather than as part of the funeral Mass.

Eternal rest grant unto funeral eulogies, O Lord; and let no light shine upon them. May they rest in peace. Amen.

I wish, my friends. But if someone like Senator Kennedy can have inappropriate eulogies, how can we tell our people they can't?

Scary!

Point taken Father Charles. I also believe that the guidelines of the Boston Archdiocese limits funeral eulogies to five minutes, and we saw how well that worked out!

Yikes!
Glad to hear it was unrelated to the demise of the deceased, but still...
How odd!
