Isn't Cardinal Law still offering the liturgy? He abused his authority and many young people were scared for life. Why zero in on Rudy Giuliani?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26883902.post-21116540812408952232008-04-30T08:50:00.000-04:002008-04-30T08:50:00.000-04:00To me, I think our preaching and teaching is compr...To me, I think our preaching and teaching is compromised when we accept the secular world's idea that crimes like the Iraq war and issues like abortion are different problems to be treated separately. In my opinion, they are symptoms of the same general disregard for human life and the human person.Brother Charleshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07780326836452864455noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26883902.post-63580825349364807332008-04-29T22:11:00.000-04:002008-04-29T22:11:00.000-04:00I'm no fan of Giuliani's, but I too support a woma...I'm no fan of Giuliani's, but I too support a woman's right to chose. I wish Cardinal Egan was just as concerned about the War in Iraq and bringing it to an end as he is about abortion. For too long the church has obsessed about abortion and failed to look at its own sins overlooking sexual abuse, a generally tolerant policy toward our country's long history of war against innocents in Iraq, El Salvador, Vietnam and elsewhere.

If the Eucharist is truly the Body of Christ, and I believe that it is, then receiving a supernatural gift might have a beneficial effect on Mr. Giuliani. I have to wonder what Jesus would have done. Judas was at the Last Supper. No one was excluded from the table. I reserve the right to disagree.
