Maybe it doesn't feel so clumpy to someone who has English as a second language.Mairie https://www.blogger.com/profile/17663275897097146508noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26883902.post-52848117977088715982012-08-07T22:18:35.176-04:002012-08-07T22:18:35.176-04:00You haven't experienced mass until you've ...You haven't experienced mass until you've experienced it in the original Esperanto.Your Friend Aaronhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12882448289218613548noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26883902.post-10560481659271046222012-08-06T07:48:17.764-04:002012-08-06T07:48:17.764-04:00Yes. That is why the curia and the last 2 Popes have taken such an active interest in English translations, both of liturgy, but also of the Bible and of the Catechism. English is the effective universal language of the Church now -- with French and Spanish and Portuguese falling behind. Only Italian can compete within the Church, and that only because the headquarters of the Church is in Italy. But globally, the language of the Church is becoming English, just like English is the global language of commerce, transportation, even law courts in many countries where English isn't the 1st language.

Only the Italians and some Swiss and people living in Italy and Italian Switzerland celebrate the Mass in Italian. People all over the world celebrate the Mass in English. So, English gets the attention. Molto bene!Mark D.https://www.blogger.com/profile/05000893614655251587noreply@blogger.com
