In a spirit of relaxation during this winter break from classes, one of the brothers invited me to watch Jackass number 2 last night. When Jackass first appeared, I found it to be an amusing and light-hearted take on the skater culture, but now it's really descended into the morbid and depressing.
These guys, through a barely concealed haze of alcohol and drugs, are really hurting and humiliating each other. It has become clear, at least to me, that these guys are no longer having any fun, but are just desperately treading water in a fetid sea of raging homosexual frustration.
