Passiontide

Arriving at the fifth Sunday of Lent, our attention begins to shift to our proximate preparation to commemorate the Lord's Passion. My homily for this weekend is posted here.

  1. beautiful homily on the "Passiontide," Fr. C! what spoke to me most about the readings for this weekend is: 'Christ Jesus offered prsyers with loud cries and tears to the one who was able to save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverence." ~Hebrews 5:7-9~ if we really consider the experience of prsyer that Jesus had, we could identify and relate. Jesus went off to the desert and up to the mountain to pray. Jesus also struggled with temptations while he fasted and prayed for forty days. the difference, i think, is that Jesus had a grest reverence in prayer and we are called to have the same reverence in prayer as Jesus. it will make a difference. PEACE. ~tara t~

Faithful, or even just thoughtful criticisms are always welcome. Uninformed rudeness to other posters or to the Lord and His Church is not.

I also reserve the right to reject comments promoting things like private revelations and fringe points of view, if it seems to me like they are being presented in a misleading way.

If you raise a disagreement with something I say but I do not respond, please do not feel slighted or insulted, or imagine that this automatically means I disagree or agree with you. It's just that I don't find the comment box to be a constructive medium for certain forms of debate.
