Away on Retreat

This weekend I leave for my annual retreat. After making a couple of visits on the way, I will arrive at one of my favorite places in the whole world, St. Joseph's Abbey in Spencer, Massachusetts.

So, there will be no posts this coming week. Once I leave no comments will be moderated until I return next Saturday.

In your charity please offer a prayer for me on retreat.

I'll post pictures when I return, and reflections should there be any.

Without you, Lord, I am nothing. May I go into the woods to find you again, for the first time.

Hey Charles enjoy your retreat... and since there will be no blogs posted this week on Br. Charles website, I like to invite all of Charles people to come on over to my blog for the week! It's a happen blog let me tell you.

Do you prefer to be called Brother Charles or Father Charles? I feel disrespectful not calling a priest Father, but I know Franciscans are big on being called Brother (Augustinians are, too, in some respects, at least among one another, but mostly they all go by Father). Anyway, this is all irrelevant to my comment.

My real comment is: of course I will pray for you. I will offer the Rosary for you tomorrow and remember you at Mass, as well. I am in a very Marian zone right now (always a good place to be!), so I will offer a special prayer through the intercession of Our Mother of Good Counsel, that Mary may guide you to a deeper loving awareness of Christ's presence in your life. Blessings, Brother Father!

    Peace,
    Michael

  4. What, I return from my retreat and you leave?

OK, prayers for you. Thanks for yours while I was off on mine. They were more needed than you could ever know!

  5. Adoro! Welcome back!! That was my thought exactly. One of you set to return; the other set to leave! At least you two didn't pick the same week to take off and leave me without two of my favorite bloggers. :)

Of course we'll pray for you, Father.

Faithful, or even just thoughtful criticisms are always welcome. Uninformed rudeness to other posters or to the Lord and His Church is not.

I also reserve the right to reject comments promoting things like private revelations and fringe points of view, if it seems to me like they are being presented in a misleading way.

If you raise a disagreement with something I say but I do not respond, please do not feel slighted or insulted, or imagine that this automatically means I disagree or agree with you. It's just that I don't find the comment box to be a constructive medium for certain forms of debate.
