New Blog?

The previous post is the latest example of an interesting phenomenon on this blog. Whenever it I write a post on Confession, it seems to generate a lot of discussion and attracts more comments than any other topic. Perhaps I should start a blog dedicated to Confession or to the experience of being penitent or confessor!

  2. Fr. Charles, I would like for you to keep the same format that you have now but I would like so much if you would incorporate additional confessional observations on THIS blog.

Thanks so much for being so thoughtful of us, your readers.

You could make a day of it and post a confession topic one day a week.

Confession Friday. Reconciliation Wednesday. Penitent Monday. Something like that.

Maybe someone more creative than I am could think of a catchy title.

  4. hi Fr. C!
yes, i noticed that you get many responses on the topic of confession. but, i, too, like Paul, say you should keep your blog the way it is. the variety of topics is great. maybe you could write on some kind of regular basis (like once a month) about the topic of confession. there is so much you could write about, like experiences of being a penitent and/or confessor, as you suggest. you could also maybe share stories on the confession experiences of different saints, etc... your blog page is great, so i wouldn't change it too much-the variety of topics is great! thanks for sharing and for being so creative with your topics. PEACE! ~tara t~

  5. I just got back and am still getting caught up, but it would be interesting to read a blog entirely dedicated to the Sacrament of Confession...from both sides! lol You could even turn it into a group blog.

But of course, you can actually do as others suggested, too. I think the important thing is that you discuss it because it's helpful to us all! (and maybe to you, too?)

  6. Hmm...group blog...we could call it "confessors and penitents," and reflect and help each other, even laugh sometimes...

  7. One of the most fun times I ever had socially was when I got together with a group of devout Catholics and we ended up telling each other our funniest Confession stories. Everyone had one.

  9. Finally!!!! I was in NYC today and went to St Agnes for confession. AND, I got a NYC priest to do the rite of confession correctly and got good counsel. There's a first time for everything. Well, I'm joshing just a little, and I mean just a wee-bit. I was so elated that I said an extra prayer in thanksgiving.

A group blog is an interesting idea. hmmm.

  10. Good to know! Perhaps I'll go there too. To paraphrase Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure, "We have to remember this place."

Faithful, or even just thoughtful criticisms are always welcome. Uninformed rudeness to other posters or to the Lord and His Church is not.

I also reserve the right to reject comments promoting things like private revelations and fringe points of view, if it seems to me like they are being presented in a misleading way.

If you raise a disagreement with something I say but I do not respond, please do not feel slighted or insulted, or imagine that this automatically means I disagree or agree with you. It's just that I don't find the comment box to be a constructive medium for certain forms of debate.
