Blessing of Animals
Here I am leading prayer at the traditional Franciscan blessing of animals. Among those blessed were several dogs and cats, two rats, a duck, a hedgehog, a guinea pig, a baby squirrel, and a hermit crab. One each of the dogs and the rats, being named Francis, were also celebrating their name days.

Yonkers it is, the "City of Gracious Living."
Looks like it went a little more smoothly than the blessing at our church...
Still pictures can be deceiving, Kathy. Blessing of animals is rarely what I would call "smooth" and is never anything near quiet. :)
May I come next year and bring my pet moose (or as my grandkids would say, "MooTH")??? Can I bring him by tram into Yonkers?
