The Faith

The story of faith is the great miracle of history. We have been "grafted" into the story only recently, but have received every blessing and good thing. My homily for this weekend is posted here.

your homily was great, Fr. C! i learned a lot from it! it really is a good homily. it is amazing that at one time only the family of Abraham & Sarah knew and worshipped God. we've come a long way, as you mention in your homily. there are a lot of us Christian Catholics! i think what i've learned and am hearing from the readings and your homily this week is that there has been and still is diversity, but there also remains a vision of unity. we, as Catholic Christians, because we absolutely have been given a very great blessing and grace of faith in knowing and worshipping God, need to be an example in the world and share that faith. our faith is not ours to keep, but to share with others, particularly with others who may not be like us. i think that we have to make the extra effort. i think that through our faith, it is possible to reach others if we do it in a gentle and non-threatening way - if we have a respect and even a change of perspective sometimes, then barriers can be broken down. in the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus tells us: "Go, therefore, make disciples of all nations, baptize them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teach them to observe all the commands I gave you. And look, I am with you always, yes, to the end of time." ~Matthew 28:19,20~
of course, those who need to hear this message the most are the ones who it will take some convincing, but with God's blessings of grace and faith and with each other and through daily prayer and the Eucharist, we can reach others.
PEACE!
