Arriving at the fifth Sunday of Lent, our attention begins to shift to our proximate preparation to commemorate the Lord's Passion. My homily for this weekend is posted here.
beautiful homily on the "Passiontide," Fr. C! what spoke to me most about the readings for this weekend is: 'Christ Jesus offered prsyers with loud cries and tears to the one who was able to save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverence." ~Hebrews 5:7-9~ if we really consider the experience of prsyer that Jesus had, we could identify and relate. Jesus went off to the desert and up to the mountain to pray. Jesus also struggled with temptations while he fasted and prayed for forty days. the difference, i think, is that Jesus had a grest reverence in prayer and we are called to have the same reverence in prayer as Jesus. it will make a difference. PEACE. ~tara t~
